Before you message
- Check the badges: phone and student email verification mean the person was identified by us.
- Read the listing carefully. Prices far below the area average are a warning sign.
- Keep the conversation on the platform. Anyone who insists on moving to WhatsApp right away deserves extra caution.
Viewing the place
- Visit in daylight and tell a friend where you are going; go together if you can.
- Ask to see the room, shared areas, bathroom and kitchen. Check water, electricity and internet.
- Ask who else lives there and who the landlord is.
Money and contracts
- Never send a deposit, reservation fee or rent before seeing the place and meeting the person.
- Put rent, deposit, bills and the minimum stay in writing. Ask for a receipt for every payment.
- Do not share ID photos or card details in messages.
If something feels wrong
- Use "Report listing" on the listing page and block the user from the conversation.
- Our moderation team reviews every report and removes listings when needed.
- For threats or fraud contact the police; we cooperate with official requests.
